Black-throated Green at Holiday Beach - April 12, 2002
Sighting reports originating from the ONTBIRDS mail server network are repeated courtesy of the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO).
Birders, Yesterday afternoon I found a singing Black-throated Green Warbler at Holiday Beach Conservation Area, Essex Co. There were also lots of Golden-crowned Kinglets and Brown Creepers as reported elsewhere. There were 3 Great Egrets in the marsh and a single Black-crowned Night Heron. Several species of duck were in the marsh (water levels are up) including a couple dozen Ruddy Ducks, and several Ring-necked Ducks. Note that the park is closed to vehicular access until April 27, until then you have to walk in.
