My name is Brian Ratcliff and I am coordinator of the Thunder Bay Field Naturalists Project Peregrine. Since 1989, our club has hacked 89 young peregrines back to the cliffs of Lake Superior and more recently have been monitoring about a dozen nests. Four years ago we implemented a banding program and todate 90 young peregrines have been banded at this cliff sites.Every five years there is a National Survey to monitor peregrine falcon populations and 2000 is the next survey year. I have been asked by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to help organize the provincial survey and spread the word. Check out the information on the 2000 survey. Our goal is to get as many people as possible out checking cliff sites and highrises for signs of peregrine activity.
If you prefer, you can download the MS Word document and print or view it at your leisure. If you require any additonal information, please email me or call 807-768-8408

Greg Gallant's Gallery
Greg Gallant, my twin brother who lives in Cape Breton Nova Scotia, has put together a revised online art gallery. Greg shares my love for nature, and demonstrates it in his superb paintings. His son Derek has done an excellent job of creating this website for Greg, and they should both be proud of it.
Please visit my site for free species lists. These include 3 world lists that correspond to the Scientific and Common names found in Dr. Charles Sibley's electronic book, "Birds of the World 2". Two of these lists have Alternate Common Names one in German and the other in Katakana (Japanese). There are also many geographical subsets of the World list (again corresponding to Dr. Sibley's text) with alternate names in several languages. All the lists are in .dbf format. There is also a world mammal list, again free of charge. To download go to:http://www.ccinet.ab.ca/merlin/
and click on Merlin Species Watcher Databases.
