Warblers arriving Wye Marsh - April 28, 2002
What a great day we had at the Wye Marsh on Saturday!
I would first like to thank Nick for his help in getting intouch with Bob Bowles, and giving me his Breeding Atlas Charts. I hooked up with Bob after we left the Marsh and I recieved all that I needed.
This was my first trip to the Marsh in many years for myself and the first(won't be the last) with my 2 sons aged 4.5 and 6 years. They had a terrific time seeing all the neat things in the Interpetive Centre and out on the Trails.
This is a summary of what we saw at the Marsh:
Northern Juncos Painted Turtles (21) Red-Winged Blackbirds Morning Cloak Butterflies (2) Blue Jays Red Squirrel (1) Double-Crested Cormorants (3) Bull Frog (1) American Robins Red Trilliums Canada Geese White Trilliums Trumpeter Swans (22) Trout Lilies Turkey Vultures (3) Fiddleheads Tree Swallows May Apples Ring-Billed Gulls Chipmunk (1) Mallard Ducks (1pair) Song Sparrows Cerulean Warbler (male) Yellow-Rumped Warbler (female) Yellow-Shafted Flickers (2) Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker (female) American Crows Eastern Phoebe (1) Black-Capped Chickadees Mourning Doves Belted Kingfisher (1) All in all a terrific day to be outdoors: Garth N.
