The Giant Swallowtail is a rare butterfly in Ontario, especially east and north of London area. Margaret Carney photographed this butterfly in her own garden in Whitby just south of Thickson's Woods.

The Giant Swallowtail is our largest butterfly in Ontario. It ranges from 4-6.25 inches (102-154 mm). Margaret Carney photographed this Giant Swallowtail butterfly in her own garden in Whitby just south of Thickson's Woods... a significant sighting!
