| Malachite (Siproeta stelenes) |
This is one of the very few butterflies throughout the globe that have any green colouring. In its home within the Florida swamps, this butterfly blends very well with its environment. Also found in Texas, Central and South America. Size is 8-10 cm (3.25 - 4 inches)

| Tiger Longwing (Heliconius hecale) |
The Tiger Longwing, a native to South America, is poisonous. Like similar poisonous species, it feeds on passion vine. They roost at night in the forest subcanopy, making them difficult to find in the evenings. Size is 8-10 cm (2.75-3 inches)

| White Peacock (Anartia jatrophae) |
The White Peacock is considered to be one of the most beautiful butterflies of the world due to the intricate pattern in its wings. The one pictured above is not considered a good example of the true colour that can be found on this specie. They are typically found in South America, Centra America, Mexico, and in warm summer months as far north as the New England states. Although not really evident in the photo above, it has yellowish gold antenna clubs. Size is 5-5.5 cm (2-2 1/4 inches)

| Clipper (Parthenos sylvia) |
The Clipper is one of my favorites! This Malsian species actually comes in two different colour forms - brown (as pictured above anb a less common blue form. They have an erractic flight pattern, and can usually be seen feeding on Lantana blooms. Size is 10 cm (3 1/2 inches)

| Zebra Longwing (Heliconius charitonius) |
This butterfly specie obviously got its common name from its elongated striped wings. Like the Tiger Longwing above, it too is poisonous, due to the fact that the caterpillar feeds on passion vine. The bright black and yellow patterns warn predators they are poisonous. The Zebra Longwing is native to Costa Rica, and thrives well at the conservatory, feeding on any nectar flower, and also gathers pollen from the Psiguria vines. Size is 7-8 cm (3-3 1/4 inches)
